On the Road!
As some of you may remember, myself and 3 friends have been planning on a road trip across country to find a new place to settle down. Well, we actually made it out on the road. We left a little over two weeks ago and headed to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. We are in Panama City now for spring break, but leaving tomorrow for Daytona Beach.

Congrats for getting out there! Nice site. We will list it on the Virtual RoadTrip page on the main RTA site. Which of the vehicles is pulling the pop-up? Kinda cozy sleeping? How well is the Direcway set-up working for you?

Thanks Mark! We appreciate the link on your site. The Van is pulling the pop-up. That thing could tow a house. We don't even notice it is there. Shortly we hope to have a boat behind the Jeep.
Surprisingly enough the pop-up is fairly roomy. We haven't killed each other yet anyway. There are four beds in it so we do OK.
The DirecWay has been OK. We've had some difficulty aiming it and getting a strong signal. People look at us funny when we tell them we need a clear view of the southwest sky because we are transmitting. We are up and running in Daytona Beach, Fl right now though.
We are headed to St. Augustine tomorrow and then south towards the Florida Keys. We'll keep you updated.

Key West

If participating in a rock band -- under water appeals --
be sure and check out Chris Elliott's site -- he is an expert roadtripper and scuba enthusiast who lives and works in the Keys, (http://elliott.org/adventures/places/festivals.htm). Also when you get to Key West, there is a tiny RV park in the heart of town -- Jabour's Trailer Court -- a bit funky -- but in the middle of the crazy action.
Aiming a 3 meter antenna without a automatic aszmith is a VERY tricky enterprise. Especially on top of a pop-up tent trailer -- I bet no one is allowed to walk around inside when you are connected to the Internet!
