Hi,
I am planning to spend a year travelling the USA and Canada in an RV. One of the things I would like to do is take in as many Town festivals as I can. I do not have an itinerery yet and plann to base it losely around the festivals I visit. Anyone know any good ones and where information can be obtained????

The Seafood festival in Hampton Beach NH in September is a good time for seafood and fun at the beach. Then drive up route 1A on the coast - beautiful.
In Tewksbury, MA every year they have the Irish Festival which is a big thing for a small town. I usually have fun at this.
Also try to hit the Italian festival in Boston in the summer.

Most larger cities have pretty good web pages that will tell you when their festivles are. If you are looking for really small towns (ie smaller than 1000 people), you may need to reley on word of mouth once you get in the area.
The only advice I'd give you is to make sure you are in the northern areas during the summer. I reside in Wisconsin, and I can tell you that there are MANY festivles during the weekends of July and August. At least in Wisconsin, you'd have no problem finding some town's cornroast, blues fest, beerfest, or whatever within a 2 hour drive of where ever you are.

Hey,
I saw you needed to get some tips for festivals and such to stop at on your road trip. If you are going to be in Arkansas in May I would definatly stop at "Toad Suck Days" in Conway. It is a great atmosphere and probibly the best in Arkansas. Despite the name go!
