Weather Road CAMs for the entire Western USA
I found a very cool link for anyone traveling on Western USA highways today.
Web cams from major highways all over the western USA.
So, this service provides web cam links, accident reports and required chain-up locations for New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana and all other states to the west of that area.
Here is the area of this service:

This is pretty incredible.
Not all of the cameras are active -- but enough are to really get a sense of the local weather in key areas of the West.
A real asset for winter travel!
Yeah that's pretty neat! Showing the live snow chain requirements along with lots of other info. A real asset for winter travel!

during the heavy rain storm
I was random paging yesterday during the heavy rain storm along the Pacific Coast and saw a web cam on the US-101 just north of Brookings, Oregon where the bridge crosses a tidal area and the water from the storm was only about 1 foot below the road surface. Pretty exciting to be driving there I would bet!
