Road trip from Michigan to Niagara Falls On
I am planning a family trip to Niagara Falls. On the way there entering through Sarnia and driving to the falls. On the way home going through Buffalo NY and taking the Lake Erie scenic route back to Mi. Traveling with 3 teenagers but are not big fans of rollercoasters so cedar point will not be on the route as a scenic stop. Any suggestions on pit stops to and from as points of interest.? And a one night stay on the way home between buffalo and Mi. I am looking for town to stay with points of interest. Any suggestions of must see destionations.? Our trip will take place in August. Thinking about 2 days in Niagara and another not sure where yet on the way back.

Niagara-on-the-Lake
Fort George National Historic Site
Evangola State Park
Presque Isle State Park
Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge
Now, depending on where you're starting/ending in Michigan, and what days of the week you'll be making your homeward drive, I'd probably try to get west of Cleveland on the first day, driving through that city well after rush hour if on any day but Saturday. Staying overnight west of the city, say around Huron or Sandusky OH, would mean that you'd miss the next morning's rush hour traffic and be in good position to make a short visit to one of the Lake Erie Islands previously suggested and still have a chance of getting home before it gets too late.
