Welcome to the RTA Forum!
Any roadtrip is a "good trip" in my book, but if this specific trip would be a good choice for you depends upon you - and you haven't told us anything at all about why you've picked this route, what you hope to see and do, who would be going on this trip.
This forum is here to help you plan your trip, but in order for anyone else to be able to do that, they need to know more than a couple of dates and the name of a highway.

Just for the record, Route 66 was decommissioned years ago. Most of it is under I-40 and I-57, now, though there are parts of it labeled state route 66, or historic route 66. One of the longest stretches is AZ-66, between Seligman AZ and Kingman, AZ through Peach Springs. However, this part is west of your route, so bear that in mind as you plan.
You'll have to take something else into Indiana. Route 66 went into Chicago, but never further east.
