Maryland > Main> Florida> Maryland
Hello,
I'm looking for suggestions on the "quickest & most affordable" road trip I'll be starting from Maryland, first end point will be Main, then I would like to drive to Florida. I would like to drive through as many states as possible. I'm originally from Colorado and want to see as much as I can. How long would this type of road trip take?
How long is a piece of string

Your question is practically impossible to answer. From "Maryland" to the southern border of Maine, down to Jacksonville, at the northern point of Florida and back to Maryland is a 2500 mile trip trip, if you stick to the ultra-congested I-95 for the entire trip (the shortest possible route). That's a minimum of 5 days, especially considering the traffic/terrain.
Of course, at that point, you wouldn't be seeing much except the busiest highway in North America. If you actually want to see something in Maine or Florida, and don't just want to touch the state line and turn around, you will be looking at more time. It's a full day drive from Northern Florida to Miami, all by itself. If you want to go through more than just the states touching the Atlantic, you'd need more time. And of course, if you want to have time to actually have fun, you need more time for that too.
So that's about all we can tell you to start - once you've got a better idea of what you have time and money to do, and what you hope to get out of your trip beyond a couple of vague destinations, we can do more to provide you some specific ideas.
