Road trip from Orlando to Austin July 2015

Hi,
Myself and my girlfriend are looking at the idea of going on a road trip from Orlando to Austin/Dallas and back during the last two weeks of July. We have briefly looked into it and plan on flying into Orlando and then from Orlando spending a night or more in each of the following: Tallahassee (1 night), Biloxi (1 night), New Orleans (1 night), Houston (2 nights), Austin (a friend of mine is currently living in Austin so we plan on spending about 3 nights there), Dallas (2 nights), Jackson (1 night), Atlanta (2 night) and back to Orlando. We know it will be a lot of driving and maybe 2 weeks is a short period of time but my girlfriend has always wanted to visit these states so we are trying to see as much as possible in 2 weeks. We will also be stopping, but not spending the night, in towns along the way. Would anyone know if this is a good suggested route? Any suggestions regarding where to stop along the way, changes to the suggested route, things to do along the way/in each town/city or any other comments or observations would be greatly appreciated.
