from Washington to Orlando, summer 2016
Hello, Bonjour !
We are a french family, used to journey in Europe but not in the USA. To celebrate our son's 10 years old, we're planning to have a big trip. First a few days in New York, and after reaching Washington DC by train, we would rent a car. We want to go to Orlando in more or less a week. I've already had a look at the map (as I'm a geography teacher I love maps) and I imagine to make stops in Norfolk (or Virginia Bay), than in Wilmington (or Myrtle beach), in Charleston and in Savannah.
We could enjoy historical places and the Ocean.
But I'm maybe forgetting some interesting places? Or choose a wrong road ?
I would be glad if you give us tips for this trip.
Thank you all for your wise tips.
Barbara
An Historic Coastal Route
Bienvenue sur les forums de RoadTrip Amérique. Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!
Let me start you off with a general review of what a coastal route might look like. You will find it as the second of two possibilities for a drive on the east coast described here. Note that it is described northbound, but I'm sure a cartographer such as yourself can work out how it would go southbound. If that raises any questions or if you just need more advice, simply ask.
Je vais être en France, dans la vallée de la Dordogne, moi-même ce printemps.
