Hi guys ,
We are traveling from San fransisco to vegas then onto Los Angeles via San diago ,then onto big sur back up to San Fran. how Long does it take . , how far is it . Where to stay on route, we have never done anything like this before . So excited . Thanks guys .

Any online mapping program can tell you how far this drive is - although don't expect their drive time estimates to be accurate. SF to Vegas can be done in a long day. Vegas to San Diego can be done in 5-6 hours, depending on traffic, and then back up to LA is just a few hours, again, depending on traffic and where exactly in the LA area you are going. LA to SF is a 2 day trip if you want to follow the coast.
Of course, That's assuming you're just making direct drives and not stopping at the many other places that could be included on such a loop - including Yosemite, Death Valley, even the Grand Canyon. You might also consider reversing your trip, so you are driving on the ocean side of the road as you head along the coast.
