A father(me) and my two teens was on a epic journey across USA summer-14.

We drove approx 4800miles, from Miami to LA. I think we did the most of it.
I had planned the most of the trip in front of my computer in advance. Some things was necessary to book, like Daytona NASCAR race, permit to climb Half Dome and so on.
I also booked the most of the hotels, so I knew how far I had to go each day. I tried to plan the route so that after a long drive-day we spend the following day with the car parked. This worked perfectly. It's the power of planning...
