wisconsin to yellowstone
Hi, we have 9 days and a 14 yeard old daughter looking for fun interesting ideas to do/ visit along the way. Wondering if anyone else has taken this trip and what would you recommend or not recommend. I am looking for anything from biggest ball of twine to beautiful landmarks. Thank you!

Welcome to RTA!
Where in Wisconsin, and is this 9 days to be a round trip? Just driving by the shortest route will take you about 3 days, assuming central WI. If you are looking at a 9 day total trip, you have 3 days to get there, 3 days there, and 3 to get back. Yellowstone is worth every bit of that 3 days.

So much to choose from.
Have you checked your maps to see what is along the way. Many attractions of all types are marked on good maps, such as those produced by AAA (free to members) and Rand McNally. The attractions tab on the green bar above also has attractions along or near your chosen route.
You could choose to take some respite from the interstate and travel some of the scenic routes along the way. There is the Bluff Historic Scenic Byway in eastern MN from La Crescent to Dexter, via La Crosse.
Another is Alt US-14 over the big horn mnts past the medicine wheel (and its history) and the big horn canyon. It is a magnificent drive, as is the Beartooth Highway on your way into Yellowstone, via the north east entrance. You could take Alt US-14 to Cody, Chief Joseph Scenic Byway to Red Lodge and onto the Beartooth, over Beartooth Pass into Yellowstone.
These make for much more interesting driving than sticking only to the interstate. I am sure once you start looking you will find much more along or near your route.
BTW, when are you making this trip and do you have your accommodation in (or near) Yellowstone secured?
