Phoenix to Mt. Home ID
Planning a trip this summer. Flying into Phoenix and staying with family for the first week then heading to Mt. Home ID to see more family and would like opinions on the route and things to see. The trip is 873 miles and we do want to get there within two days so our "side trips" have to be short and sweet. Please advise...
Thanks!

'Pit stops'.
Hello and welcome to the RTA forums !
If you take US93 which is a pleasant drive you could make a couple of 'pit stops' at Hoover Dam and Cathedral Gorge State Park just north of Caliente NV with a bit of a detour. Ely NV would make a good overnight stop if you were on the road early. Baker would also be an option with a view to driving up Wheeler peak in the Great basin NP early the following morning, but that would be stretching you for time. Further up 93 is Twin Falls where you could check out Snake river canyon and Perrine bridge.
Another route option would be to head north to Page AZ with a quick peak at the Grand canyon on route. If you made it to Panguitch on US89 for night one, it would leave you another day on the road to ID via Salt Lake City.
