Seattle to Glacier, any good food stops?

Hi All,

My girlfriend and I are going to embark on a trip from Seattle to Glacier this August and I was wondering if there were any good stops in between certain parts of our trip. To give an idea of what we'd want, I asked this same question when we went from Rocky Mountain NP to SF (stop by Arches/Vegas/Yosemite) and we were told about stopping at this small town called Garden City in Utah that had fantastic raspberry shakes. We drove there and it was one of the highlights of the trip. Anybody have any suggestions or "must try" food stuffs and/or good things to check out in general? Our itinerary is:

August 14-16 - Fly into Seattle, explore the city
August 16-19 - Pick up rental car, drive to/explore Olympic National Park
August 19-21 - Drive to/explore Mount Rainier National Park
August 21-22 - Drive to/spend night in Coeur d'Alene
August 22-26 - Drive to/explore Glacier National Park
August 26 - Drive to/stay in Spokane
August 27 - Fly back to NJ

I believe the longest drives are to/from CDA, so I would guess I'm looking for stops between there (Aug 21-22). I look forward to hearing from anyone. Thanks in advance

Coeur d'Alene is definitely one place you want to stop. I was there a number of years ago and found it to be a very pleasant city, especially walking along the shoreline of Coeur d'Alene Lake where you can take a seaplane ride to see some of the great local scenery. Coeur d'Alene seems to specialize in sandwiches, and a couple of places you might want to check out while walking include Best Sandwich Shack (on Best Avenue) and Meltz Grilled Cheese (on Katherine Avenue), or maybe Caruso’s Sandwich & Pizza (on Ironwood Drive) if you need a little more variety.
