Honeymoon Road Trip!
I am getting married October 19, 2013...everyone keeps asking us, what are you doing for your honeymoon? We've considered all of the usuals...cabin up north (we live in Southwest Florida), Bahamas, Jamaica, cruise. His parent's don't want us to take a honeymoon, and prefer us to save for a trip to Greece in July 2014 (they are Greek and go back every summer). So we want to please his parents, but still want to get away together. We love travelling with each other, so we thought a perfect honeymoon for us would be a casual, relaxed road trip, with Las Vegas as the ultimate destination (not to gamble, just to sightsee. And if we don't make it that far, that's fine!)
I've been looking online at places to stop, but I don't really know, as I've never been East. Any suggestions on the route / attractions would be much appreciated. The only thing we KNOW we want to do is drive through New Orleans, and see the Grand Canyon.
Thank you all!

Welcome to the RTA Forum!
How much time to you plan to take for this trip? Just driving to Vegas, at a semi-relaxed pace, is going to take at least a week. So to do this as a round trip, you're going to need 2-3 weeks minimum. Of course, the longer you're on the road, the more money you'll also need.
The options for places to stop really are endless, so at the very least, we're going to need to have some more ideas of the kinds of places you are interested and would like to see/do. Of course, in the meantime, you can spend some more time looking around this site, including the RTA Map Center to find lots of stopping point ideas right along the direct route.
