Fall Coast-to-Coast Camping Roadtrip: California to Maine and back!

I am new to this site and forum, a lifelong fan of road trips. Help me post effectively if there are tricks and the most visible forums.

Fulfilling a life-long dream to cross the country by car, we go this Fall from California to Maine and back again in 49 days. We are towing a tent trailer, though interspersing some hotel stays. We look forward to small towns, avoiding Interstates as much as we can, only driving about half the days, seeing wilderness and big cities.

Roadtrip strategies for seeing New York City with a camping trailer involved some creative plans! What a vast and varied scene we'll have, from Yellowstone to DC! We'll touch the Pacific near our home and then the Atlantic at Acadia National Park in Maine.

When I was younger, we went to NYC several different summers with a small travel trailer. We always stayed outside the city, on the NJ side, and commuted into the city via public transportation. Others will chime in with ideas, but Liberty Harbor RV Park is in Jersey City.

Also...I've camped in a tent trailer before.We had one for a couple of years before we upgraded to a 5W. I'd recommend a small portable electric or propane heater. It looks like you could be at some higher elevations in the fall, and it might come in handy.
