Halfway from "Ohio" to Destin FL could be anywhere from Bowling Green KY to Athens AL depending on where in Ohio you're starting from. Could you be a bit more specific in where you're starting from and what you're looking for in a place to overnight?

Campground cabins could be just as expensive as a pet-friendly motel. La Quinta is a chain that is usually pet friendly. (Look to the right column on this page. There's a place to "search for pet-friendly hotels & motels".)
AZBuck's right, though, to help you find a halfway stop, we need a more specific general starting place in Ohio -- there's a lot of difference from starting in Cleveland, to starting in Springfield or Dayton, or points further south!
