HELLO RTA!
ok...have done lots of research but want to see and do things roadtrippers recommend too...we are traveling by trike so we definately want to see the beautiful roads pictured online...the plan right now is I70>I29>190...and so on to yellowstone and grand tetons...is this the best route to take to see these beautiful byways? any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The route you've listed sounds like it would be the most direct route from "kentucky" however, there can be a whole lot more than fastest and direct when figure out a "best" route.
How much time do you have for this trip? When are you going? Which beautiful roads do you want to see? Obviously, there are roads through the national parks that are going to be scenic, but did you have any specific byways or other attractions you wanted to see?

Really, there is no "best" route for everybody. It's your trip, and it should be the roads and things you want to see, not what someone else does. That's the beauty of the road trip, it's completely versatile.
You really didn't say when you are traveling, though you posted this in the Spring forum. If you are traveling anytime soon, bear in mind that all the roads are open in Yellowstone now EXCEPT the Beartooth Highway, which is slated to open on June 14th.
Not far off I-90 in South Dakota are many treasures: Badlands National Park, Mt Rushmore, Wind Cave and Jewel Cave NP, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse Memorial, and Dinosaur Park in Rapid City, SD.
