Best Overnight stops Detroit to Seattle

Good morning All!

Now that I'm retired, I'm planning a road trip this summer from Detroit, MI to Seattle via I-90, leaving June 19th and arriving back in Detroit June 29th. From previous posts on this site I've noticed some really nice places to visit during the trip, but I'd like some advice on where to stay for night after leaving out of Wisconsin.

Forgive me if this request for suggestions is too broad, but any assistance would be greatly appreciated. My alternative timeframe would be the same dates in July.

What is the point of this trip, and how much time are you planning to spend in Seattle?

10 days for a round trip really doesn't give you much time for extra stops, unless you are planning to turn around as soon as you arrive in Seattle. It would take 4 hard days of driving each way.

If you're just looking to get to Seattle as fast as possible, then I'd look at stopping at LaCrosse WI, Rapid City SD, and Helena MT.

Anything beyond that would depend upon the details of your trip/timeline if you are looking to make any additional stops for sightseeing.
