shenandoah skyline drive
I will be driving (or thinking about it) north from Dallas to Hershey Park, PA. I am thinking I will drive up the Shenandoah sky drive. 1. How long will it take? 2. I will be towing a 26 ft. camper with a truck, is this going to be a problem? I can also take 81, but just want to see how long it will take as I have a few hours to burn. If I do the drive, I will like to spend the night at the southern most entrance and hit the road first thing in the morning. Please if you have done this provdie me your thoughts.
Thanks

We went up Skyline Drive from south to north, last summer. It's 105 miles done at no faster than 35 mph. During the early part of the day you will have no problems finding pullouts in which to enjoy the view. It took us 5 hours.
How tall is your vehicle? You may need to check out the tunnel's height and compare it to the tunnel. I don't think travel trailers have an issue, it's mostly motorhomes that have the trouble.

I have traveled the length of Skyline Drive and if I remember correctly, it took about 4.5 - 5 hours, accounting for multiple stops for views, lunch, etc.
The Marys Rock Tunnel has a clearance of 12' 8".
