Driving from Florida to Seattle end of March, need advice on driving route in the Sou

I am flying from Seattle,WA to West Palm Beach, FL the end of March and have 2 weeks for a driving trip back with my brother. We know we are stopping in Surprise, AZ and Northern California but besides that we have no idea the best route to drive or scenic places to visit. I love the outdoors and don't need to stop in busy, big cities. Any advice on a good route to follow or nice sightseeing places? Any places to avoid in the South? I know there are tornados so we will likely stay away from those areas. Thanks!

Certainly there are no shortage of scenic places you could go. You could spend some of your trip driving down the pacific coast, or you could head towards Utah check out a few of the dozen or so national parks there on your way to Arizona. I'd probably start looking at National Parks and getting a good map of the US and see what jumps out at you. There's no single "best" answer, but Once you have some ideas to start we can help you work out the details.

As far as avoiding tornadoes - they can hit pretty much anywhere from the rocky mountains to Florida. That's not really a reason to be afraid, as pretty much every part of the country is at risk of some kind of disaster, but its just a reality that you can't stay away from those places.
