Las Vegas loop...
Hello America!
We'll be in Vegas end of the year and we are thinking of renting a car (suv) to drive from Vegas to Monument valley (heading North to George, then East to Kanab, Page etc), after visit continuing to Kayenta, Cameron and then the East GC entrance to Desert view, after visit on to Seligman to do part of the Route 66 and back to Vegas.
Is this do-able in winter time? Would we need a SUV or are the (main) roads pretty ok to drive in a regular (rental) car?
We're thinking of spending 1 night in Kanab, then 1 night in the View hotel in the MV park, 1 night near Grand Canyon Village. We have driven before in the US and speak/read the language pretty well...
Thank you in advance for any suggesties and replies, due to our very terrible internet connection I can not really browse all topics to see if this question has already been posted and/or answered.
Warm regards from Tahiti

Welcome!
Welcome to the RoadTrip America Forum!
It appears the roads you are taking are all major US routes, so, outside of some freak storm, should be kept reasonably clear after any bad weather. Therefore, either type of vehicle should be fine. It really depends on your driving ability and what you feel more comfortable with. Here are some tips from the Arizona DOT. There may be some areas that require snow chains, and some rental contracts expressly forbid that activity.
