San Fransisco - Grand canyon - Las Vegas

Hey

I have been on loads of road trips with my parents around las vegas but now am coming over
to drive with some friends and will be driving for the first time there

I'm tryin to plan the route and will be in the USA for 10 days flying into SFO and out of las vegas The only thing i know is we are planning to spend the last 3 nights in Las Vegas

The drive from grand canyon to Las vegas seems to be well advertised but can anyone tell me the fastest route out of San Francisco to grand canyon please? and recommend places to stop?

The fastest route would be to take I-5 to CA-58 to I-40. Its about 800 miles and is a day and a half drive.

However, such a route also skips the many popular attractions like the Pacific Coast, Yosemite, Sequoia, and Death Valley.

This is the single most discussed route on the forum, so by all means spend a little time looking around where you'll find a ton of information and ideas.

If all you want to do is visit the Grand Canyon and don't care about anything between SF and there, why don't you just fly into Las Vegas instead? Your car rental will be a lot cheaper that way too, as there won't be a one way dropoff charge.

its gonna sound silly but we want to come over and do a road trip

plus i hate flying the trip from london to there is enough :-)
