Hello group!
Next week I am driving from Wi to Anchorage, AK. I have about 12 days to do the trip, more than enough time I think. The only planned stop I have is to see Mt. Rushmore. Any suggestions of "Must see" stops along the way?
Any good campground ideas? How about good local places to eat. This is a trip with just me and my 15 yr old son in a Jeep Wrangler and a small trailer. Should be quite the trip!
You've created a couple threads in the past indicating you were planning to take the Ferry up from Alaska. Is that still the case, or are you planning to drive the whole way now?
The single most important planning tool for any Alaska trip is a copy of The Milepost.

It surprises me that in all the time this trip has been contemplated, and obviously delayed, that you have not obtained a copy of this valuable publication. It is the bible of all those who take the trek north, regardless of which route or which mode of transport.
Having driven there and back twice, and hoping to again next year, I would not dream of doing it without The Milepost.
