RV trip from Charlotte, NC to HERSHEY, PA to SANDUSKY, OH, then back to CHLT..

Hey! Taking a trip with the family - first time ever in a RV for a road trip.... Three boys -- ages 14, 11, and 2, and of course the husband and I. Heading out July 23 from Charlotte to Hershey PA for two days then to Sandusky, OH for three... plan to be back home July 30....

Any ideas of stops between any of the places - including back home from Sandusky to Charlotte? Just trying to see whats out there... We are planning Hershey park & Cedar point already...

Any advice on RV'ing with kids, awesome food places, and/or sites to stop along the way or things to do....

Well, you certainly haven't left yourselves a lot of time for side trips from the direct Interstate routes between your destinations, so you should keep such stops to relaxing sites close to the main road. One route you should seriously consider though, even though it is about a dozen miles longer than the Turnpike route from Hershey to Sandusky is to head north from Harrisburg through the Susquehanna and Juniata River valleys on US-22 to I-80 near State College. These roads are in better shape and will be easier on your RV (and your wallet) than taking the Pennsylvania Turnpike which was actually built before the Interstate System design criteria were even drawn up.

Thanks for the info about the turnpike. We have never rented an RV before and took a road trip. Thought it would be nice for the kids.
