Hello,
Visiting from Australia in November. Would like to drive from Phoenix to Salt Lake City, visiting everything wonderful along the way... giant cacti, train ride, bearizona, sedona, christmas lights, trading posts, grand canyon, zion NP, Bryce NP and anything else. No time limit.. scared of snow but up to the challenge. Hard to judge best way to go and best places to visit. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

You don't say exactly how long you have, or do you mean the whole of November ?
The direct route is quite straightforward through Sedona and Flagstaff to reach Grand canyon South rim, you can enter from the South and exit to the East, where there just happens to be Cameron trading post. This is where you could take a side trip to Monument valley before continuing North to Page [possibly Antelope canyon] and Lake Powell before heading to Bryce and Zion. If you had the time you could continue through MV and North to Moab, with Arches and Canyonlands NP's close by. You could then head to Bryce and Zion by way of Hanksville and Capitol Reef NP to Torrey and along the wonderful scenic byway 12. You could play around with your options and head East towards Moab from Bryce, again a lot will depend on time.

If you are here in November you will not see Christmas lights since Christmas isn't until December 25th unless you plan to be here through December. Sedona is a really neat place to visit and definitely recommend you fit it into your trip! We tent camped there and it was a great experience.
