Taking mom, dad who are visiting US for a road trip.
Day 1: LA-> Vegas
Day 2: Vegas->Hoover->GC Village
Day 3: Stay at GC
Day 4: GC-> Page(Smooth water rafting)->Springdale
Day 5: Zion->Vegas
Day 6: Vegas-> LA
Since Mom,Dad are post 60 and I am the sole driver I want to break trip at vegas while returning.
Any comments on itinerary how it may be more effective? Also any tips on road conditions since I am planning to take my Prius.

I think your plan looks pretty good.
Once suggestion, you might want to drive directly out towards the Grand Canyon your first day, rather than going to Vegas, which is a bit out of the way. Laughlin, Nevada could be a nice place to break the trip in half, if you're not up for driving 500 miles in one day. Going to Vegas is ok, but it does add about 100 miles of driving, compared to going across on I-40.
On your trip to the Grand Canyon from Vegas, I suggest taking the more southerly route and skipping Hoover, unless your folks really want to see it.
Homeland Security has designated the Dam as a potential terrorist target and have established a checkpoint both East and West bound. It took us almost a hour to travel from the checkpoint just East of the Dam to the Nevada side. Traffic from Vegas, Eastbound was backed up for almost 10 miles.
A stunning bridge, high above the dam and river is being constructed to allow traffic to bypass the Dam which will do much to make both the trip, and a visit to the dam less hectic and time consuming.
