Best road from Memphis to Nashville

Hi!

I'm planning a road trip in the US in August, I'm coming from France and it's the first time that I'll visit the US by car.

I'd like to know what is the best road to drive from memphis to Nashville, I mean not just interstate but I'd like some scenic routes and some small towns.

A great alternative to I-40 between Memphis and Nashville is to take US-64 east and then the Natchez Trace Parkway north. This routing takes you by one of America's great Civil War battlefields, Shiloh. An alternative, if you're making this journey for Elvis and the music, is to take US-78 to Tupelo and pick up the Natchez Trace there.

Thank you, I was indeed thinking of Tupelo and the Natchez Trace Parkway... We'll be in Memphis on the 15th of august for the candlelight vigil at graceland so it'd be nice to see Tupelo on the 16th or 17th.
