My mother-in-law and I are planning a 5 day road-trip from Indianapolis to Columbus, GA, and we would love to make it into a food and wine tour! We will go through Nashville and Atlanta...does anyone have suggestions on great places to eat, drink, and sight-see along the way?

Roadside dives, eateries, and diners abound, but it sounds like you might be looking for something a bit more upscale, or possibly a mix of all of them. Here's a link to a list of Tennessee wineries, and here's one for Georgia. I haven't delved deep into these pages, but if their anything like the wineries I've visited in Virginia, you'll have a selection of Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Viognier, and Petit Verdot.
Is the five days round-trip or one-way?
Thanks so much for your reply! These websites are great! The trip is one way and you are right, we are hoping to get a real taste of the south...literally! I have found some great stuff on Southernliving.com for any of you others doing a tour of the south. As for Nashville, we are going to try to do the NashTrash tour...looks hilarious! If anyone is going to Nashville, check it out!
Also, does anyone know of any good plantations or mansions to check out along that route?
