First Mini-Roadtrip

I am 18 years old and will be going on my first roadtrip ever. Not a full roadtrip, but a miniture one. 5-7days from Southern California to Northern California and back, starting in Orange County and Ending in San Fransicso Bay Area. My girlfriend and I will be staying in hotels, with family and with friends.


What are tools and gear I must bring, especially seeing as this is my first "trip" with a car anywhere longer then 3 hours? Any tips questions would be appreciated!

I can think of clothes, food, trash bags, spare tire/jack etc., cell phones, computers, cooler ice packs, first aid kit, and thats about it.

The list you've got sounds like a pretty decent starting point. Theres nothing that says you have to bring lots of extra stuff just because you are going on a roadtrip, and if you aren't camping, you don't really need that much. Here's some other thoughts on what other people bring for their roadtrips.
