Denver, CO to LAS VEGAS! Help!
Hi,
My husband and I are at our wits' end... we are new to the States (Colorado) and my in-laws are coming out in June. We're planning a road trip from here to Las Vegas, and need some help. We had it all planned until *someone* wanted a 'day of rest' -- meaning we need to find a nice hotel (with a pool) in Utah -- preferably near Salt Lake City. Any ideas?
To give you a very brief idea of our itinerary: Northern Co. to Dinosaur NP, to Salt Lake City, to Moab (Arches, Canyonlands), to Grand Canyon, to Las Vegas. Somewhere before Moab we'd like to get in that shopping-and-swimming-pool day.
We would so appreciate any suggestions -- we are so new to this country that we are looking at a map every five minutes! We want to see as much as we can on this trip without overdoing it.
Thanks,
Sarah and James
The In-laws are coming, too!
Thanks for your response!
Yes -- the in-laws are coming, too. We have around eight days to get to Las Vegas. At all the other places we're staying, we're doing campgrounds and fairly low-budget lodges, but my mother-in-law really wants to stay somewhere for a night (or two) that's a little more upmarket and HAS A POOL! You're right -- there's nothing wrong with a rest along the way! We just don't know where/how to fit this is in -- I think it's partly because we had the whole trip planned out and now we need to make some changes. It's hard to work those in! Whatever advice you can offer us would be so much appreciated.
