Ny to niagara falls and Lake george

Hi All

this is the 2nd time my partner and I ,are making a road trip,after much thought we decided on going to lake george from new york since we have 15days to our disposal , we want to do something exciting like white water rafting this time , we like having activities to do through the day ,quite adventurous , like scenic places ,not high on the night life, good food , so i was hoping on getting suggestions of

1) attractions along the way ,exciting things to do , scenic places
2)good eateries along the way
3) best things to do when in lake george
4) good lodging?

we were also thinking about going to Niagara falls ,haven't formulated the plan yet .

any advice will be appreciated

That general area has been talked about frequently around here. As for specifics in the Lake George area, I'm something of a history fanatic, so when I drove through that area a few years ago, I made a point of visiting Fort William Henry, Crown Point and Fort Ticonderoga. Each has something unique to recommend it. As far as white water rafting, I've only flat water canoed in the Adirondacks, but I suspect that area will offer the best chance for some enjoyable rapids. The best advice I can give you for good food and lodging is to "Inquire Locally". The people that live in the cities and towns you'll be driving through know a lot more about the local cuisine than I do.
