Anything between Reno and McCall, ID

We are driving from SF to McCall, ID (I-80 to 95) with an overnight stop in Winnemucca, NV. We've done this drive a few times, but have not really stopped to see anything.

I guess my question is, is there anything "must see" to visit (and not too far out of the way) mainly between Reno and McCall?

Depending on what you consider "must see", of course, there are the ghost towns of Unionville, Midas and Paradise Valley in Nevada. You'll also be driving along the Santa Rosa District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Note that their Headquarters is in Sparks, just outside Reno, so check there on the way if you'd like to know more about what it has to offer. And for natural beauty, Jump Creek Canyon and Squaw Creek Canyon in Idaho
