Florida to Washington
Hey All,
I'm a college student (aka poor college kid) in Florida and I wanted to take a road trip to Seattle this summer. I was planning to go through the South West (TX, NM, AZ, NV, Cali), up the PCH to Oregon, and Washington...
Then over to Idaho, Wyoming (Yellowstone), S. Dakota, and to St. Louis and then head home. Basically a big loop around the US.
I wanted to do 20-25 days (impossible?) and split the time sleeping in my car and a cheap motel.
If you guys could give any input about the amount of days (too long/short) and if you think I can do this trip on around $1000?
Thank You guys (and gals)!!

Yes and No
Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America forum.
20-25 days is more than adequate for such a journey. $1000 is not. Even if you were to alternate between staying in campgrounds and cheap motels, you're probably looking at close to $1000 in lodging alone. Your car would drink up around another $300, even without any maintenance. Oh, and you were planning on feeding yourself, weren't you? Another $300 minimum. And we haven't yet considered park entrance fees, tolls, souvenirs, or any unexpected expenses. To be brutally honest, I wouldn't attempt such a trek unless I had at least twice your budget. Thanks for the welcome and the tips. I guess I should probably cut down my trip until I'm financially ready at least.
