Hi all,
I am planning on driving from dallas to san jose starting june 22nd.
I wanted to get suggestions on the best route to get there.
Currently i am planning on taking 287 to ammarillo and then catching I-40 all the way to bakersfield and then getting on I-5 to san jose.
I am planning on finishing the trip in 3 days would like to reach san jose early evening on the 24th.
Any suggestions? Has any one taken this route before?Should i watch out for anything??

Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum! Three days is a reasonable time period to cover this 1700 mile trip. With stops for fuel, food and rest, you will find that you will average about 57 mph over a travel day and you should plan to travel at least 8-9 hours each day.Quote:
