Hi. Planning a solo roadtrip from san fran to alta wyoming. I like strange things..amargosa in death valley is my favorite thus far. does anyone know of any unusual roadside attractions that are a must? I haven't decided if I'm going through oregon or nevada..any suggestions???
The Oregon Vortex is pretty strange. But I don't know if you'd be going that far north. It's around Roseburg....can't remember if it's a tad north or a tad south.
Stonehenge on the Columbia? near Golden Washington, just across the Columbia river from the Dalles, Oregon (roughly).
For Amargosa. Dining "room" just reopened!
Drive us 50, Loneliest Road of America. In Twin Falls, shake hands with Charlie Chaplin at the parkinglot near Perrine Bridge over Snake River and try to find Evel Knievel's jump off point but it's on private land. Maybe also try this site: www.roadsideamerica.com
I'd drive via Nevada.
