We are staying at Circius Circius with family (we are going for a wedding), but we are on a limited budget. What kind of itinery would you guys suggest? Its my first time and would like to get a good taste. What shows can't we miss? Best deals on good food? Things we can't leave Vegas without seeing?
There are two afternoon shows that are both excellent and appropriate for kids of all ages. Ronn Lucas is at the Rio and Mac King is at the Harrah's. Ron is ventriloquist and Mac is a very funny magician. You can often get tickets for free by joining the player's club (also free) at Harrah's.Quote:

If you have the budget -- the Mystere show at Treasure Island is very good and "O" is simply gorgeous.

When I said I was staying with family, I was not speaking of children. My aunt is getting married and they will have kids with them (hence Circius Circius), but we are in our mid twenties. We want to do a little gambling, eating, show seeing. Ya know the older crowd stuff, not magic shows. I would like to know if there are typical vegas must see's, casinos, entertainment, rides. But cheaper fare.
For the price you can not beat the two shows I recommended earlier -- Ronn and Mac -- most of their humor goes over the heads of anyone younger than 22 -- but it is generally clean which is why I recommended it. You could probably give the Chocolate factory a miss -- but everything else would still be on the list. There is no such thing as a typical "Vegas experience." Although there are levels depending upon how much you want to spend. It is easy to spend $100,000 per day here -- it is also easy to get by with spending less than $50/day and still be entertained 24/7Quote:

I would say about $150 a day, maybe $200. We are planning one day to leave the strip and venture to the hoover dam or a state park.
As far as shows go -- there are plenty of free shows at the various casinos and you will have to come and see what suits your tastes. Red Rock State Park is just west of the city (use Charleston and keep driving west) or you could drive up to Valley of Fire on I-15. Both are awesome natural sites.Quote:
