Seattle to Yellowstone Loop
Hello, I'm new here and I'm looking for advice in planning a family (young kids) road trip from Seattle to Yellowstone and back, preferably a loop. So far, I'm thinking something like this:
Lake Coeur D'Alene
Glacier
(something in between maybe?)
Yellowstone
Grand Tetons
(and then I'm not sure what would be a good route home with some interesting, albeit anticlimatic, stops along the way)
I welcome advice and suggestions. We're hoping to take 2 weeks or so.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America forum.
Well, you're certainly starting out right. You've got the time. You've got the kids, You've got some gorgeous countryside to play in. And you're planning! I very much like your basic loop. I think that for my recommendations in the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area, I'll just refer you to this thread on a trip I took up there about a year ago. In particular, there is a very nice, kid friendly park along the lake in Coeur D'Alene with a Visitor's Center that would be a worthwhile stop. After Glacier, Yellowstone and the Tetons, (can't improve on those!) try US-26 to Idaho Falls and then I-86/I-84/US-30 down the Snake River Valley across southern Idaho. Some nice stops along here are listed in this post which also has some other sights in northern Idaho. We also have a couple of regular posters who know a lot more about Oregon and Washington than I do. With luck, they'll chime in.
