No road has played a greater role in opening up America than what is known today as The Historic National Road, built to open up access to the states carved out of the old Northwest Territory: Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.

This is an excellent museum, the highlight being a 136-ft diorama telling the story of the Main Street of America. Fans of western literature will also find plenty of interest in the area dedicated to locally born author Zane Grey.
