Named after Seth Bullock, businessman, sheriff (Deadwood's first, appointed after the killing of Wild Bill Hickok) and hotelier, Bullock Hotel was built in the late 19th Century. With its red velvet carpets, brass chandeliers and other fine fittings, it offered previously unheard of luxury. Today, having undergone several renovations it remains Deadwood's plushest hotel without having lost too much of its charm. (This is a gambling town so it is now filled with gaming machines).

      If you go:
Keep an eye out for Sheriff Seth Bullock, legend has it that his ghost makes regular appearances to this day.
