Since 1947, the Little League World Series has taken place every year in South Williamsport, where the Little League was founded in 1939. Adjacent to Lamade Stadium, where the series is played, the Little League Museum pays tribute to the series and the organization itself with exhibits, film clips and special events. You can view gloves, uniforms, photos and other memorabilia chronicling the Little League and paying tribute to its veterans, some of whom have gone on to professional careers in sports. There's also a mock-up of a Little League diamond, complete with a simulated crowd in the background, where youngsters can get the feel of being a Little League star.

      If you go:
Open until 5:00 p.m. Open daily in July and August, and every day but Tuesday and Wednesday during June. Open only on Friday and Saturday during the winter. The World Series is played in August.
