• Mariposa Grove, Yosemite National Park California

Mariposa Grove located near the South entrance to Yosemite NP is home to about 500 giant Sequoia trees. Some of these trees are thought to be more than 4,600 years old. There are a number of paved trails making it easy to walk among these giant living trees.

      If you go:
The 2 mile long Mariposa road is closed during the winter. It normally opens in April and closes after the first snowfall in November. During peak season the parking lot fills quickly and you are advised to take the shuttle bus service. People with mobility impairments may drive their own vehicles on the tram road through the grove behind tram tours for free (coordinate with the tour kiosk).
