      Constructed from sandstone and granite and capped off by a copper dome and a 17 foot high representation of Liberty, Montana's State Capitol was completed in 1902 and extended soon afterwards with the addition of east and west wings.

      If you go:
      Inside the rotunda, Look up and you'll see four paintings representing the State's earliest inhabitants and settlers: The Indian Chief, The Cowboy, The Prospector and The Trapper. Other paintings within the building depict subjects ranging from Lewis and Clark's Voyage of Discovery to The Louisiana Purchase, The Chase of the Buffalo and the completion of the Northern Pacific Railroad.
