      Salem Sue is a 38 ft tall Holstein cow fabricated in fiberglass, and was erected on a hill overlooking New Salem, North Dakota in 1974 to "honor the dairymen of our area, their superior herds and production of high quality milk" (and, clearly, to put New Salem on the tourist map too).

      If you choose Satellite view and look to the east side of the ridge on which Salem Sue sits, you can also see NEW SALEM spelled out in huge white letters.
