• Old Faithful Geyser, Yellowstone - Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Old Faithful is neither the tallest nor the most predictable geyser in Yellowstone (these are, respectively, Steamboat and Riverside) but has become one of the most iconic natural features in the whole of North America. Erupting, on average, every hour and a half and discharging up to 8,000 gallons as high as 130 feet, Old Faithful is the focus of an area of the park 'Upper Geyser Basin' that is home to more than 150 geysers, the largest concentration in the world.

      If you go:
Accommodation is available nearby in the Old Faithful Inn and Old Faithful Lodge; the visitor center is located between these two historic buildings.
