The Kimball Jenkins School Of Art is a three-acre complex encompassing a historic mansion and carriage house among other buildings, that has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. While it's best known for its classes and activities, and its art exhibits open to the public free of charge, one of the most interesting things you can do here is take a tour of the estate for a fascinating glimpse of relics from its past. You may even see newspapers a century old just lying casually on a counter.
If you go:
Office Hours: M, T, W, F: 9:30 am- 4:30 pm. Facility hours vary, so check ahead before dropping in. Tours are self-guided, but ask a staff member or volunteer about some of the things you see, and you may get some fascinating tidbits of information.
