• Mountain Life Museum - Blairsville, Georgia

Mountain Life Museum is in the Grapelle Butt Mock House. It's an annex of the historic society. The house was built around 1906 and is filled with objects belong to the Butt family. It's a glimpse into the life of a middle-class Blairsville family in the early 20th century. Outside practically an entire early settlers' village is built around the cabin. There is the relocated 1861 Payne Cabin, a barn, corn-crib and blacksmith shop. The county hosts a Mountain Heritage Festival there each September.

      If you go:
Mountain Life Museum is a block off the Square. It's open May thru December, Friday and Saturday, 10am to 4pm. Admission is free. Donations are welcome.
