This little family owned animal haven has a fascinating assortment of unusual animals to feed, pet and delight in. As the name suggests, there are several camels, including one that appeared onstage with a production of the Arizona Opera. But you'll also find goats, sheep, zebras, ostriches, and some rare and oddball species you may not see anywhere else. These include Chinese pheasants and a zeedonk, which is a cross between a zebra and a donkey. There is also a hinny, which is a cross between a donkey and a horse. Nearly all of the animals will eagerly take food out of your hand, and many will allow themselves to be petted. Purchase bags of carrots and buckets of feed from the attendants, who will gladly fill you in with tidbits of information about the animals. With any luck, you may even get to hold a newborn goat.

      If you go:
Open daily 10 to 5 except Monday. Closed during summer.
