The Aiken County Historical Museum features constantly changing exhibits relating to the past and present of Aiken County. It's housed in a mansion that actually consists of two homes that were combined into one. The older and smaller home was built in 1840, while the newer and larger one dates to 1931. The house's 32 rooms are packed with fascinating items, and some of the rooms have special themes. Among them, for instance, is a circus room. Also on the property are a log cabin constructed in 1808 and a one-room schoolhouse from the 1890's.
