If you've never been to a wax museum, this is an excellent one to start with. You'll find it in a building sporting a huge Oscar statue out front, and the building itself is designed to include a replica of King Kong climbing on the Empire State Building. Inside you'll find some very realistic statues of many Hollywood celebrities, along with plaques that provide some fascinating and little-known facts about their lives and careers. You can even pose for photos with them, sporting props and costume pieces provided. But the wax museum is only a part of this entertainment center. There's also Hannah's Maze of Mirrors, a fairy tale quest, fun for all ages, through one of the most challenging mirror mazes you'll encounter. And then there's Outbreak, a horror attraction that leads you on a path through a laboratory complex that's been taken over by zombies. It's extremely well detailed, and not for the squeamish. You can purchase tickets for these attractions separately or as a package.

      If you go:
Open every day all year, with slightly longer hours on Friday and Saturday. You can make reservations online. The company also operates Wax Museum Entertainment Centers in Hollywood, Branson and Pigeon Forge, with specific attractions varying by location.
