• South Carolina State House - Columbia, South Carolina

South Carolina's elegant State House has a colorful history involving fraud, defective materials, Civil War damage, and as many as five architects over the 50 years of its construction. The building's charming interior is notable for the painting and statues that reflect the state's history. Outside, take a walk around the building and look for six bronze stars marking damage from General Sherman's cannons in 1865.
